Nothing is rushed and nothing happens without being explained first. Two of these steps happen before you leave the house, which is why the visit itself starts with a conversation rather than paperwork.

You arrive
Tea or sparkling water, a seat by the window and a two-minute check of the forms you already sent. There is no waiting-room queue because we book one arrival at a time.

Sitting down together
Your doctor talks with you upright and fully dressed, before any chair goes back. What brought you in, what has happened before, what you would change and what you would not.

Photographs and a 3D scan
Full-face and close-up photographs, then a five-minute intraoral scan. No impression trays, and you see your own teeth on screen at the size of a dinner plate.

X-rays, only if needed
Low-dose digital radiographs where the scan and the exam cannot see, typically between the back teeth. If you have images from the last two years, we use those instead.

The examination
Tooth by tooth, then periodontal charting with six measurements around each tooth, an assessment of your bite and wear, and an oral cancer screening of the soft tissues, tongue and neck.

Hygiene
An unhurried cleaning, adjusted to your comfort as we go, when your gum condition makes it appropriate on the first visit. If your gums need more than one session, we say so rather than rushing it.

We look at everything together. You see what we saw, including the things that are fine, which is usually most of it.

The plan, and the fees
Options in order of urgency, each with a sample fee and what insurance is likely to cover. You leave with it in writing, and nothing has to be decided in the room.

We are in network with several PPO plans and file claims for most others. Sofia checks your benefits and emails an estimate before your visit. No insurance? The studio membership covers preventive care for $49 a month.
A first visit lasts about 90 minutes. We take photographs and a 3D scan, complete a doctor's exam and cleaning if appropriate, and finish with a conversation about your goals and a written care summary.
Many of our patients feel the same. We offer noise-cancelling headphones, weighted blankets, numbing gel before injections and oral or IV sedation for longer treatments. You can pause any time by raising a hand.
A full hour for adults, so your hygienist never needs to rush. Children's appointments run about 45 minutes.
We are in network with several PPO plans, including Delta Dental PPO and MetLife, and file claims for most others as a courtesy. We provide written estimates before treatment.
